China, the regime's traditional ally, has also voiced its opposition to Pyongyang's latest provocation. Mark Broome has more. South Korea's Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha held separate emergency phone talks with her U.S. and Japanese counterparts on Saturday,... where all three condemned North Korea's ballistic missile launch and exchanged ideas on strong response measures,... including UN sanctions. Minister Kang, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida assessed the launch as a grave violation of UN resolutions,... and agreed that the suspected ICBM fired on Friday was an advanced version of the missile launched earlier this month. There were divided assessments on the ballistic missile launched on July 4th,… but North Korea claimed it as a successful ICBM test. Kang also expressed her disappointment that North Korea had let down the international community and rebuffed Seoul's efforts to resume inter-Korean humanitarian exchanges. However,... she reiterated that South Korea will continue to call on North Korea to refrain from provocations and accept Seoul's proposals. In a separate statement,… Tillerson said the U.S. will never accept a nuclear-armed North Korea and called on China and Russia, the principle economic enablers of North Korea's nuclear weapon and ballistic missile development program... to take more action to curb the regime's nuclear ambitions. With North Korea repeatedly defying the international community's calls to refrain from further provocations,... China also expressed its opposition. "In response to North Korea again firing an intercontinental ballistic missile, China's Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that China opposes North Korea going against the UN resolutions and the common desire of the international community by carrying out launches." UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also slammed the North for its launch of what he called another "ballistic missile of possible intercontinental range." While a date has not been set for an emergency UN Security Council meeting,.. it's expected to be convened as early as next week. Mark Broome, Arirang News. Kim was conducting undercover reporting in South Pyongan Province in June 2010 when he met an emaciated, soot-blackened woman in the suburb of the city. With a weak voice, she told Kim she had recently lost her parents, her home, and had since been living in the streets. Kim couldn't catch her name because of her weak voice. At the time she was gathering grass to feed rabbits. In that region of the country, many households are obliged to feed rabbits at home and local schools gather them. It is said that these rabbits are used to supply food to the military or fur procurement. She was selling what she gathered in the market to make what little money she could. This video interview was smuggled out of the country and distributed by ASIAPRESS. It had a large impact on the global community after footage was broadcast on major stations such as ASAHI TV (Japan), KBS TV (South Korea), ARD (Germany) and BBC (UK). In particular, after a feature report on South Korean KBS was aired on October 3, hundreds of comments were posted on the program's website expressing deep feeling of sympathy for her. Kim informed us she was found dead around October 20, 2010, only a few months after meeting her: " Without a home, she had survived by begging in the market and along the road. But one day she was discovered dead in a corn field. It was the corn harvesting season at the time, so she was probably trying to find raw corn to eat. A neighborhood reported that there was a woman's body lying in the field and rumors spread around the area. It was later confirmed that it was the body of the 23 year-old homeless woman. It seems many days had already lapsed since her death, as the body had begun to decompose. But local police still left it there for a long time." Currency reform, the 2009 redenomination of the won, has caused massive economic turmoil in North Korean society, leading to increases in homelessness and starvation in several regions. For families like that of this woman, the policy destroyed their livelihoods. They had no choice but to sell their homes and wander the streets. She is one of the victims of this reckless redenomination policy. At the ASEAN leaders' annual summit, the envoys mentioned the two nuke tests in 2016 and subsequent ballistic missile launches by North Korea,... and asked all parties to exercise self-restraint to prevent aggrevating the situation. They also urged Pyongyang to fully comply with UN resolutions. The statement comes as a refusal to the request of the regime's foreign minister Ri Yong-ho.., who sent a letter early this month to the bloc's chief, asking for support from ASEAN claiming tensions on the peninsula are exacerbated by the Seoul-Washington joint military drills. Welcome to my travelchannel. On my channel you can find almost 1000 films of more than 70 countries. See the playlist on my youtube channel.Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/user/nurettinodunya/playlists The Trans-Siberian Railway: The Trans-Siberian Railway (TSR, Russian: Транссиби́рская магистра́ль, tr. Transsibirskaya Magistral; IPA: is a network of railways connecting Moscow with the Russian Far East. With a length of 9,289 kilometres (5,772 miles), it is the longest railway line in the world. There are connecting branch lines into Mongolia, China and North Korea. It has connected Moscow with Vladivostok since 1916, and is still being expanded. It was built between 1891 and 1916 under the supervision of Russian government ministers personally appointed by Tsar Alexander III and his son, the Tsarevich Nicholas (later Tsar Nicholas II). Even before it had been completed, it attracted travellers who wrote of their adventures. The Trans-Siberian line remains the most important transport link within Russia; around 30% of Russian exports travel on the line. While it attracts many foreign tourists, it gets most of its use from domestic passengers. Today the Trans-Siberian Railway carries about 200,000 containers per year to Europe. Russian Railways intends to at least double the volume of container traffic on the Trans-Siberian and is developing a fleet of specialised cars and increasing terminal capacity at the ports by a factor of 3 to 4. By 2010, the volume of traffic between Russia and China could reach 60 million tons (54 million tonnes), most of which will go by the Trans-Siberian. With perfect coordination of the participating countries' railway authorities, a trainload of containers can be taken from Beijing to Hamburg, via the Trans-Mongolian and Trans-Siberian lines in as little as 15 days, but typical cargo transit times are usually significantly longer and typical cargo transit time from Japan to major destinations in European Russia was reported as around 25 days. According to a 2009 report, the best travel times for cargo block trains from Russia's Pacific ports to the western border (of Russia, or perhaps of Belarus) were around 12 days, with trains making around 900 km (559 mi) per day, at a maximum operating speed of 80 km/h (50 mph). However, in early 2009, Russian Railways announced an ambitious "Trans-Siberian in Seven Days" programme; according to this plan, $11 billion will be invested over the next five years to make it possible for goods traffic to cover the same 9,000 km (5,592 mi) distance in just seven days. The plan will involve increasing the cargo trains' speed to 90 km/h (56 mph) in 2010–12, and, at least on some sections, to 100 km/h (62 mph) by 2015. At these speeds, goods trains will be able to cover 1,500 km (932 mi) per day.
